The Substance hierarchy contains concepts that can be used for recording active chemical constituents of drug projects, food and chemical allergens, adverse reactions, toxicity or poisoning information, and physicians and nursing orders. Concepts from this herarchy represent general "substances" and chemical constituents of Pharmaceutical/biologic product (product) which are in a separate hierarchy. However, sub-hierarchies of Substance also include but are not limited to: Body substance (substance) (concepts to represent body substances); Dietary substance (substance); Diagnostic substance (substance).
