IHTSDO Accelerates Technical Infrastructure

The need for progress on a robust and sustainable technical infrastructure to support the needs of IHTSDO and its members has been identified as a priority by the General Assembly, the Management Board, and the IHTSDO Community of Practice as a whole. IHTSDO’s plans are founded on an architecture set out by the Technical Committee, as well as more detailed specifications developed by various Project Groups, Special Interest Groups, and Members. These are dynamic perspectives and we are seeking a flexible and adaptable technical infrastructure that can evolve over time as knowledge develops and needs change.  You can access and contribute to the latest version of the Technical Architecture and Principles through the Collaborative Space.

Our initial focus will be on tools for the supply and maintenance of a SNOMED CT, a multi-lingual modular workbench which will host various applications which will “plug” into the bench. With support from Open Health Tools, we have recently issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to provide a broad update regarding our plans and intentions in this regard. You can download a copy at https://ihtsdo.projects.openhealthtools.org/ and also sign up to a discussion group related to this project.  (Select the tab “Prior Information Notice”). We invite you to work with us on this first step on a journey which will, over time, have greater emphasis on tools in support of implementation.
