Denmark’s representative to the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO®) is the Danish National Board of Health (Department of Health Informatics), within which Digital Health (Digital Sundhed in Danish) is handling the National Release Centre of Denmark. Digital Health is a public organisation that is financed by the state, the regions and the municipalities.
Danish Health Terminology has been administered by Digital Health since January 2008, creating a framework for digital exchange of health care information. Digital Health has a vision of a service minded and productive health care sector, where citizens and patients are involved in their own health. IT plays a major role in the realization of this vision and in 2007 Digital Health published “the National Strategy for the Digitalization of the Health Care Sector 2008-2012.”
As the National Release Centre of Denmark, Digital Health is responsible for distributing and managing SNOMED CT® in Denmark.

Danmarks repræsenteres i IHTSDO af Sundhedsstyrelsen, hvor Digital Sundhed administrerer det Nationale Release Center. Digital Sundhed er en fællesoffentlig organisation, der finansieres af Staten, Regionerne og Kommunerne.
Den danske Sundhedsterminologi er siden januar 2008 blevet administreret af Digital Sundhed, der danner rammen for digitaliseringen af det danske sundhedsvæsen. I Digital Sundhed har en vision om et servicemindet og produktivt sundhedsvæsen, hvor borgere og patienter bliver inddraget i deres egen sundhed. IT spiller en central rolle i realiseringen af visionen, og i 2007 udgav Digital Sundhed ”National Strategi for Digitalisering af Sundhedsvæsenet 2008-2012”.
Som vært for det Nationale Release Center i Danmark, er Digital Sundhed ansvarlig for distribution og administration af SNOMED CT® i Danmark.
