Help Improve SNOMED CT
SNOMED CT currently contains more than 311,000 unique concepts, 800,000 descriptions, and 1,360,000 semantic relationships. It is the outcome of hundreds of thousands of hours of work by experts from around the world. Much has been done, but there is more yet to do. Just as our knowledge about health and health care is constantly evolving, so too are terminologies in this domain.
We invite you to join your colleagues from around the world in continuing to develop the terminology, as well as the tools and resources needed to use it effectively. There are many ways to become involved. For example, you can:
- participate in IHTSDO's Community of Practice meetings (see schedule here)
- join a Special Interest Group and contribute to the progress of work in these areas through the online Collaborative Space. If you do not already have a username and password to the Collaborative Space, receive it by writing to collabnet(at)ihtsdo.org
- become involved in the Affiliate Forum, which brings together users of the standard from around the world to share experiences, contribute to building SNOMED CT, and nominate representatives to IHTSDO's standing committees (coming soon)
- suggest the addition of specific concepts, or changes to current concepts and relationships, through your National Release Center.
Participation in IHTSDO Forums and other activities is governed by the Conditions for Participation in IHTSDO Bodies and Forums.
